Racism & Equality
Under the Declaration of Independence, all men are said to be equal. Thus, government need not make any sort of laws that discriminate against others based on skin color, religion, sexual preference, or any other similar personal characteristic. Laws need to allot each person the same freedoms or restrictions without any sort of regard to their personal characteristics.

I am all for equality…but you know what really twists my nips…when we got obama getting votes only because he’s black, people won’t even look at the issues, they just look at the color of his skin.:( it irritates me when you get all the blacks together and they say go obama just so they could get a brother in the white house. i’ll put $50 that half of the black population dont even know obama’s first name. they just say “is he black…ohhh. put him in the white house.”

I agree with you. Not that it matters now cause Obama is taking over the country as I type this. Just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I supported Hillary. They need to get over themselves! Slavery was FOREVER ago! We’re sorry, we love you. Now use your brains and stop looking at skin color!

Not everyone voted for him for that reason. Equality is great and stuff but where’s the section about women equality? We’re still earning 77 cents to every dollar a man earns. I’m researching it for a paper but its making me realize this is a huge thing that’s still not right. Why is it taking so long?

Equality for women is taking so long because we (men in particular) hold on to the old testament of the Bible. Most people may not realize it, but the reason women were suppressed for hundreds of years is that Eve, the mother of all women, ate the apple first. Many people interpreted her eating first from the tree as a sign of weakness and easily falling into the hands of the devil. They though if women had any choice in leadership, the entire world would have gone to hell in a handbasket, so women were suppressed. As Christianity spread, the beleifs from the Old Testament ran as rampant as beleifs from the New Testament, spreading their interpretation into the world. Women were taken off of their thrones throughout Asian and Native American societies, and forced to shove down that particular Christian beleif.
Many still hold that beleif without even realizing it. They think women as “weak”, but don’t know why. They rationalize their thought by thinking they think that women are less physically able and are steriotypically less mentally able, but it all boils down to genration after generation teaching the same thing to their children, even after they forgot why.
