Monetary Policy
For some time, the Federal Reserve has gone about unsupervised and unreprimanded. For an organization that controls nearly every aspect of monetary policy, monitors financial institutions, and is intertwined in economic markets, this is utterly unacceptable. The Federal Reserve’s operations need be more transparent and subject to accountability. The Fed’s stranglehold on the money supply also requires some significant consideration. Thought should be given into completely doing away with the Fed’s exclusive jurisdiction over the money supply, and thus allowing the supply to be regulated by the market as opposed to the government.
