Marriage
The Constitution left the power in the states to pass laws regulating marriage. The Federal Government should have no involvement in regulating marriage or discriminating against others because of their sexual preference.
Regardless of your stance on same sex marriage, the power to decide whether such unions should be acknowledged should rest in the hands of each individual state, not the Federal Government. Federal laws that restrict the states in passing their own legislation in regards to marriage should be done away with. The Federal Government should be barred from defining what marriage is, regardless of what channel it may choose to use.
With this, every state would have the power to define marriage, and wouldn’t be forced to adopt the views of the Federal Government.

I agree the feds should let states define marriage. I believe the state should uphold a “civil union” between a man and woman, homosexuals, and lesbians. If the parties want their union blessed the Church sould preform that function.

Prejudice is alive and well. I must disagree with Obama, McCain, and Barr on this one. The government has no business in this matter.

This stance on marriage has already been in place, the problem comes when you have activist judges that overturn what the voters say, then you have what we have today. Then when a “union” is done in another state, they got to thier home-state and sue to have it recognized because it is their “right”. And they keep suing until they get their way and override what the majoirty has said. It is called ANARCHY.
Most of these poisitions that the libertarian party have on this site are not stances at all, just middle of the road…

Although I do agree that the Federal Government should leave this duty the states Homosexual marriage cannot ever be valid because marriage is a union that was ordained by God to be between a man and a woman. If two homosexuals want to be together fine, but those marriages are not valid in Gods eyes wether the goverment says so or not!
